You cannot scan a UPC code:
Yes. An Internet connection is required, which most new phones have.
The application is free, but you may be charged for standard data rates depending upon your phone plan. Each scan sends a few hundred bytes of information which should cost no more than a penny. Your normal data rates will apply when you browse the internet or send a text message after a code has been scanned.
No, once you download it on your phone it will always be there unless you delete it.
ScanLife does not share personal information, like your phone number or email address, with anyone unless you specifically provide it after you have scanned a code. We only ask that you complete a short, one-time survey to help improve the service and keep it free for you. This information will not be used to send unwanted SPAM or marketing material.
The ScanLife application for the Blackberry device works directly with the phone's camera.
- After opening the application, click on “Settings” from the landing menu page.
- Uncheck "Disable scanning", and press "Save."
- Press "Scan" and the Blackberry camera mode will be activated. Click the center roll ball button to capture an image of the code. A chime will indicate a successful scan.
- (if prompted): If your camera settings are set incorrectly, a message will ask you to change them. Press your Blackberry soft key (to the left of the rollerball) and choose "Options." Then go to "Picture Size" and choose "Small." Press Save and go back to Step 3.

Yes, EZcodes are automatically saved in the history tab in the ScanLife application.
Choose “Make Favorite” from the options menu in the history tab.
Yes, choose the “Audio” option from the options menu.
You can choose “Share ScanLife” from the options menu.
The processing speed is completely dependent on your phone's data connection. If you are not getting a response after 30-45 seconds, it is recommended that you press the 'Clear' or 'Back' button and scan the code again. If that is still not working, you may need to try scanning from a different location for better reception.
