• What kind of codes can I create with ScanLife?
  
  This is completely dependent on which country you are in. The ScanLife platform can typically create EZcodes codes and Datamatrix codes. The EZcode is currently a better solution for most camera phones that can't recognize the complexities of other codes. For other benefits, click here
  
  
• Are there enough 2D codes for everyone?
  
  Yes. Without getting all technical on you, there's more than enough to go around. Then again, if you want to get technical, an 2D code has a payload of 19 hexadecimals (76 bits). This means that the overall sum of unique numbers that can be generated is 1619 or 75 sextillion. That's a lot of zeros!
  
  
• Can I host or create content on the ScanLife platform?
  
  No. All web-based content is hosted by the code publisher. Our technology gives you tools to automatically send information using a number of actions on the phone. What you actually send is completely under your control.
  
  
• What if I don't have any mobile content?
  
  There are a number of ways to mobilize your content, and many large sites already have mobile content (YouTube, Facebook, etc). Please contact us to discuss available options. Of course you can still use some 2D codes like Calendar, Contact, Note, and Phone without creating anything new.
  
  
• Can I use the data to send relevant content?
  
  Yes, there are 'web services' that allow you to receive the scan data so that you can send back customized content for that user. For example, if someone has scanned your code before, you could send them different content.
  
  
• What if I want to use my codes to promote my band or small business?
  
  We ask that all commercial-related codes be created under a Business Account. This account will give you many more options and there's no commitment when you sign up.
  
  
• What do I get with a ScanLife Business Account?
  
  Create 2D codes any time at no charge; View performance data to help shape your campaigns; Pay based on how many people scan your codes; The first 20 scans are free to help you get started; ScanLife tech support is available as needed.
  
  
• What if I create an account and decide it's not for me?
  
  You will have a period to test the service after you activate your account. If you are not satisfied within this period, please contact us. You may also sign up for a Personal account at no charge to see how it all works.
