The ScanLife application for the Blackberry device works directly
with the phone's camera.
- After opening the application, click on "Settings" from
the landing menu page.
- Uncheck "Disable scanning", and press "Save".
- Press "Scan" and the Blackberry camera mode will be
activated. Click the center roll ball button to capture an image of
the code. A chime will indicate a successful scan.
- (if prompted): If your camera settings are set
incorrectly, a message will ask you to change them. Press your
Blackberry soft key (to the left of the rollerball) and choose
"Options". Then go to "Picture Size" and choose "Small". Press
Save and go back to Step 3.
The application is free, but you may be charged for standard data
rates depending upon your phone plan. Each scan sends a few hundred
bytes of information which should cost no more than a penny. Your
normal data rates will apply when you browse the internet or send a
text message after a code has been scanned.
ScanLife does not share personal information, like your phone number
or email address, with anyone unless you specifically provide it
after you have scanned a code. We only ask that you complete a
short, one-time survey to help improve the service and keep it free
for you. This information will not be used to send unwanted SPAM or
marketing material.
